Ashbridges Bay: Late Winter Waterfowl - Public walk

Description: Join us for a late winter glimpse into the birdlife of Ashbridge's Bay Park on the verge of seasonal change. Our focus will be on ducks, gulls and other waterbirds, but we will also be on the lookout for any first songbird arrivals. And, of course, we won't ignore any chickadee that decides to come say hello.
Who should come: Birders of all experience levels are welcome. The more eyes the better! Newer birders will learn identification tips. This outing is open to non-members of TOC. The terrain is mostly flat so it may be suitable for people with moderate mobility challenges.
Registration is required, please remember to cancel if you can't attend to open a spot on the waitlist
Approximate Distance: Two to three kilometers.
Terrain: Mostly level, with some mild slopes.
Trail Surfaces: Paved trails, grass.
Accessibility: Most of the route may be manageable depending on your mobility device.
Facilities: Porta potty next to main parking lot. (Washrooms and drinking water are likely NOT available at this time of year)."
What to Bring: Water, snacks, binoculars. Dress for the weather, It's always cooler by the lake.
Location and Directions: Ashbridges Bay Park is located directly south of Coxwell Ave. and Lakeshore Blvd. We’ll meet at 9:00 near porta potty immediately south of the main parking lot which is marked as “car park 194” on map:

Parking: Parking is free at this time of year.
Public Transportation: - 3 options
From Woodbine Station, take the Woodbine South #92 bus, get off at Woodbine Beach Loop at Lakeshore, and walk about 10 minutes to main parking lot south of Coxwell.
Alternatively, take the 505 Dundas Street Car east to Coxwell Ave. and Queen St. East and walk 1.3 kms. south on Coxwell to the main parking lot south of Coxwell. See map.
Or, take 501 Queen Street Car to Coxwell ave. and Queen St. East, and walk 1.3 kms. south on Coxwell to the main parking lot south of Coxwell. See map.
